Double A Marketing BMX Press Release
ABA Great Salt Lake & NBL Summer Nationals July 30-Aug. 1,1999
With the NBL season approaching to an end, the last few nationals will mean a
lot to the riders in contention for the NBL national title. The ABA held
round 17 of their 26 Pro tour Race season. Some riders decided to go there,
so it was an even split and the racing was fierce at both events. Here is how
the Double A Marketing Pros in attendance did:
ABA
Greg Romero has put his focus on ABA for the rest of the season and it showed
this weekend. After a long day of tough BMX racing, Greg was the overall
winner of AA Pro on Saturday. On Sunday, Greg fought hard again and finished
2nd overall. Greg's sponsors include Robinson, Panasonic Shock Wave, WD-40,
Tal 5, Shimano, AXO, Vans, Chevy Trucks, Revenge/Cytomax, ATI, Head lock,
Calabasis Cyclery, Core Fitness, Center Of Balance, Physical Performance
Institute
Jason Donnell traveled to Utah to stand on the podium, and that is what he
did. On Saturday, Jason fought it out in AA Pro and finished second overall,
a tough feat in itself. He came back on Sunday, but had some bad luck in the
day with a hard crash in the 3rd moto of class. Jason toughed it out and was
determined to do well, and did just that with a 2nd in the Monster Cross
final. Jason sponsor's include Huffy, Fox, Champion Nutrition, Head Lock,
THE, Epic, ODI, Airwalk, Craftsman, Easton, Shimano, Spanky Tires, Sun Rims,
Tioga, Answer, and Power Bar,
Jason Richardson once again proved his racing consistency as he made all of
the Pro mains in Salt Lake City. After visiting a dealer and doing an
autograph session, Jason must have been pumped about racing. He finished 7th
in AA Pro both days as well as in Monster Cross on Sunday. Jason fought off
jet lag and a long European trip from last week to bring home these great
results. Jason's sponsors include Giant/Mosh, Answer, ATI, Sonic, Vans, SDG,
Epic, Revenge/Champion Nutrition, Sun/Ringle, Profile, Spy, Strait Edge,
headlock, and Powerbar.
Christophe Leveque proved his skills once again as he made both the AA Pro
main and Monster Cross main on Sunday. The newly crowned World Champion
placed 4th in both classes in Salt Lake City and is headed off to Big Bear,
CA next weekend for the last NBL Pro National before the NBL Grand's.
Christophe is currently the NBL National #1 Pro. Christophe's sponsors
include Specialized/Mountain Dew, Crupi, Vans, Powerbar, ATI, Fox, Oakley,
Revenge/Champion Nutrition, Troy Lee Designs, Answer, Speed Stick, Sun Rims,
and Spanky Tires.
Robert MacPherson has always been a contender in AA pro, and he is one of the
most consistent riders in AA Pro. Robert was in the AA Pro main on Sunday,
placing 6th overall. Robert Currently sits in 2nd place in overall points in
the ABA Pro title chase. Robert's Sponsors include Diamond Back, Answer,
Crupi, ATI, Vans, Tioga, Bell, Knucklebone, Oakley, Odyssey, Powerbar, Marwi,
Profile, Revenge/Champion Nutrition, Headlock, and Troy Lee Designs.
Matt Hadan was having a great day on Saturday, winning the first of the three
AA pro mains, and was looking as if he may win overall. But when the 3rd main
raced through the first turn, and the dust settled, it was Matt picking
himself up, and finishing up 5th overall for the day. This once again just
shows how tough AA Pro is. With Matt's great personality and positive
outlook, he came back on Sunday ready to race again and finished 5th in the
Monster Cross Main event. Matt's sponsors include Torker, Trot Lee Designs,
Airwalk, Crupi, Power Bar, Headlock, ODI, Tri-Flow, Kool Stop, Tioga,
Tangent, JNCO, Champion Nutrition.
NBL
Thomas Allier went to the NBL National in East Moline, IL this past weekend
to try and pad up his lead in the NBL pro points title chase. With only 2
races left, Thomas is trying to keep warmed up for the upcoming NBL Grand's
to be help in one month in Louisville, Kentucky. Thomas was in all of the AA
Pro mains this weekend placing 3rd in AA Pro both days, and winning Pro Open
on Saturday. Thomas almost crashed in the Pro Open main on Sunday and decided
to just cruise around the track for a safe finish. Thomas' sponsors include
GT, Panasonic Shock Wave, WD-40, Oakley, Dyno, Tal 5, AXO, ATI, Vans,
Headlock, Powerbar, Revenge/Champion Nutrition, Troy Lee, Shimano, and Easton.
Randy Stumpfhauser had a good weekend, as well making both AA Pro mains and
Pro Cruiser mains. Randy stood out from the rest of the competition with a
1st and 2nd in Pro cruiser. In AA Pro, Stumpy finished 5th on Saturday and

against fellow Pro racers. Randy's sponsors include Huffy, Oakley, Airwalk,
