Double A Marketing BMX Press Release
ABA Mile High and NBL Cajun Classic Nationals June 12-13, 1999
Round 12 of the ABA Pro Tour and Round 11 of the NBL Pro Tour were held this
past weekend. The ABA National event was in Denver, C.O. and the NBL race was
located in Baton Rouge, L.A. The ABA national was greeted by nice weather and
a good track, while the riders at the NBL race faced rain and muddy
conditions. They wound up only racing one day and the NBL then doubles the
scores. No matter where the race, the riders were battling it out, trying to
obtain the biggest one day goal in BMX, winning a AA Pro national. Here is
how the Double A Marketing Pro's in attendance did:
Robert MacPherson was the MAN in Colorado. Robert skipped Santa Clara two
weeks ago to rest up for the long summer stretch of races and it seemed to
pay off. On Saturday Robert stood on the podium on the 2nd place spot for AA.
Sunday, Robert took his results one step higher and was victorious in AA.
That is no easy task and that is Robert 4th AA Pro win of the year. Robert
also placed 2nd and 6th in Pro Open. Robert currently sits 2nd overall in ABA
Pro points. Robert's Sponsors include Diamond Back, Answer, Crupi, ATI,
Vans, Tioga, Bell, Knucklebone, Oakley, Odyssey, Powerbar, Marwi, Profile,
Revenge/Champion Nutrition, Headlock, and Troy Lee Designs.
Matt Hadan was consistent as usual and was in the AA Pro mains both days as
well as Pro Open on Saturday, where he scored his best finish of 2nd place.
Matt finished 7th in AA both days and is well on his way to having a great
season. Matt was riding a new polished Torker frameset and it shined as
bright as his performance. Matt's sponsors include Torker, Crupi, ODI,
Airwalk, Oakley, Redline, Tangent, Powerbar, Headlock, Araya, Troy Lee
Designs, Marwi, JNCO, and Revenge/Champion Nutrition.
Randy Stumpfhauser took advantage of the rain and mud in Louisiana as he
placed 3rd in AA Pro and had it count twice. He also placed 7th in Pro Open.
You can catch Randy currently on the cover of the June Issue of BMX Today
from the UCI World Cup race in Orlando, FL. Randy's Sponsors include Huffy,
Oakley, Airwalk, Revenge/Champion Nutrition, Head lock, Fox, ATI, Sun Rims,
Marwi, Shimano, CTI, Crupi, Powerbar, Easton, Tioga, Craftsman, and Profile.
Christophe Leveque raced in the rain and mud in Baton Rouge and finished 5th
in AA Pro, but had the last laugh in Pro Open where he was the Champion.
Christophe can also be seen on the cover of June BMX Today. Christophe
currently leads The NBL Road to Glory Pro Open Series, and is 2nd in the Pro
Series. Christophe’s sponsors include Specialized/Mountain Dew, Crupi, Vans,
Powerbar, ATI, Fox, Oakley, Revenge/Champion Nutrition, Troy Lee Designs,
Answer, Speed Stick, Sun Rims, and Spanky Tires.
Thomas Allier was also in Baton Rouge and piloted himself to a 7th place
finish in AA Pro and 3rd in Pro Open. Thomas currently leads the NBL Pro
points as well as the ABA AA Pro overall standings for 1999. Thomas graces
the cover of BMX today, where he accepted his NBL Pro Series One 1st place
check in Orlando, Florida. Thomas sponsors include GT/WD-40, Panasonic Shock
Wave, Oakley, Dyno, TAL 5, AXO, ATI, Vans, Headlock, Powerbar,
