ABA Dixieland Nationals
Atlanta, GA June 9-10

Stop number 12 of the 2001 ABA pro series was held this past weekend in Atlanta, Georgia. With rainy weather in the past few weeks, the track was in bad condition. The ABA did the best they could, but the riders in attendance suffered, as it was wet and soft. With a soggy track and many bumps and mud holes, crashes popped up everywhere. The riders opted to do one main in AA and as you can see, it made for some strange results.  Here is how the Double A Marketing Pros who made the mains finished up:

Robert MacPherson took the tough conditions like a true champion and made the AA main both days as well as Open on Sunday. Roberts best result was a win in Pro Open on Sunday, along with a AA 5th on Saturday and crash -8th on Sunday in AA Pro. Robert looks to be in top form for next weeks Vans triple crown race. Warwick Stevenson was a victim of the bad track as a crash kept him out of the AA main on Saturday, but he was in the rest of the main events. On Saturday, Warwick placed 5th in Open. On Sunday Warwick finished up 6th in AA and 3rd in Open. Look for Podge to be in the top of the standings come next week up in Utah. Florent Boutte made his return to America after capturing the French National Championship earlier this week. Florent was fighting jet lag, but it looked as he did a good job as on Saturday, he was in both the AA and Pro Open mains. Florent placed 6th in AA and 7th in Open. With a week of rest he will be surely be a force to be reckoned with in Salt Lake City, UT this upcoming weekends ABA National and the first leg of the Vans Triple Crown.
