Go Back to Press Releases (06.19.01) The Salt Lake track has been home for some special events in the past few years, last year being the ABA world Cup and this year for not only Round 13 of the ABA Pro series, but stop #1 of the Vans Triple crown of BMX. Last year The triple crown was all about big downhill races, but this years First stop was brought to a standard BMX track. With Big money, and huge TV coverage, Vans has been a great help to the sport of BMX once again. Here is how the Double A Marketing riders in attendance finished up in the main events. Christophe Leveque has been ready for a big race, and this was it. Christophe has been feeling good and training hard, and it showed off, as he was the winner of AA pro both days! Aboard the S-works frame, Christophe has brought specialized back into the winners circle once again! Christophe was also in the Vans Triple crown main event where he placed 8th. Warwick Stevenson had a bad crash the week before Utah, and was unsure if he would even be able to attend the race, but yet the young gun not only raced, but was winner of the first leg of the Vans triple crown series. The Triple crown was run on Sunday, instead of Pro Open, just like Monster cross a few years ago, and Warwick put it all together for it! Warwick also placed 5th both day sin AA pro. Jamie Staff has been once again on a tear all year long, and Salt Lake was no exception. On Saturday, Jamie rode to a strong 3rd place finish in AA pro. On Sunday, He was in the Vans Triple Crown main event and placed 4th. Then, after all the racing was finished, Jamie headed off to go ride at Fuzzy's house. Does this guy ever stop? Thomas Allier always seems to excel at the big races, and he did in Utah at the Vans triple crown, as Thomas placed 2nd. On Saturday, Thomas also placed 4th in AA pro. Robert had a problem with staying up, as seemed to crash a lot once he reached the mains, and then a broken chain was the sign of the weekend. Still it was a great accomplishment to make AA both days! Robert placed 6th on Saturday and 8th on Sunday. Matt Hadan had another great weekend in Pro cruiser with a huge win on Sunday. It was surprising for many that Matt did so well, with being in the hospital all week with his wife after the birth of their new daughter Ava Michelle, but Matt showed his skills and determination on the track. Matt also placed 6th in Pro Cruiser on Saturday.
