NBL WEST COAST NATIONAL
By Double A Marketing

Round # 8 of the NBL's 2001 Pro series was held in Prunedale, CA, near Monterey, one of the most beautiful spots on the California sea shore. With only 3 stop left on the NBL pro Tour, its a close battle for the top spot in points, with Thomas Allier holding a slim 2 point lead over Jamie Staff, and Randy Stumpfhauser sitting in 3rd. The last 3 races will make a huge difference come time fro the NBL Grands and the overall title, and one again, the Double A Marketing Pro riders excelled during the weekend. Here is how they finished up:

Randy Stumpfhauser got back from his honeymoon with just enough time to back his bags and get ready to race. He must have be excited for the race, as he was hauling butt, as on Saturday placing 3rd in AA pro and 5th in Pro Open. Then on Sunday in front of his new wife, Carrie, Randy went out and won AA pro! Now that's what we call a great wedding gift. Stumpdog also placed 3rd in Pro Open. Randy's sponsors include Huffy, Smith Eye Wear, AC Components, ODI, S & M, Revenge, Champion Nutrition, Headlock, Fox Racing, Marwi Titanium Spokes, CTI 2, Craftsman, and BMXpros.com.

Jamie Staff is in the mist of having his greatest BMX racing season ever, and last year was pretty unbelievable, so you know he is going fast. On Saturday, Jamie barely missed out on winning, and Placed 2nd in AA pro and 4th in Pro Open. On Sunday, Jamie was back in the top again with a 3rd in AA and a 2nd in Open. Looks like there may be a new leader of NBL pro points, and its Jamie Staff. Jaime's Sponsors include Haro, Adidas, No Fear, Lee Pipes, Oneal Helmets, Smith Eye Wear, Revenge, Champion Nutrition, ODI, Answer Forks, Shimano, Kicker, Bob's Stores, BMXpros.com, and Headlock.

Thomas Allier has had a great NBL season, leading points almost the entire year. In Prunedale, Thomas was looking to hold onto his lead. Thomas picked up a 4th in AA on Saturday, as well as a 1st in pro Open. On Sunday, Thomas placed and incredible 1st in Pro Open and 2nd in AA pro. Its going to be a tight battle till years end for the NBL title. Thomas' sponsors include GT/Chevy Tracker, THE, Oakley, Sun Ringle, Marwi Spokes, Headlock, Revenge, Champion Nutrition, WD-40, Sinister Steering system, Hot Wheels, IRC, Shimano, ACS, Troy Lee Designs, BMXpros.com, and Redsand clothing.

Warwick Stevenson is also having the best season of his young pro career. With a huge win at last weeks Vans Triple Crown event, Young Podge was ready for action in Prunedale. On Saturday, he scored a 6th in AA pro, after a terrible crash kept him from placing higher and racing on Sunday. Don't worry, Podge will be back next week for more Pro action, he's one tough kid. Warwick's sponsors include Diamondback, Thor, Promax Brakes, FSA Headsets, Answer Helmets and Forks, AC Components, Vans, Revenge, Champion Nutrition, Ballistic, Head Lock, and BMXpros.com.
