(07.09.01) The NBL came to its most exciting stop of the regular 2001 Pro series on July 8-9 in South Park, PA, known as one of the favorite BMX tracks in the Nation. The 2nd to last stop of the 2001 NBL pro series was also being filmed for TV, as well as being one of the Sun Ringle Holeshot award races, where in the 3rd pro main, $500 was up for grabs for the first pro to make it to the first turn in 1st place. With all of this action going on, it made one of the best races of 2001 even better. Here is how the Double A Marketing riders who made the main events finished: Christophe Leveque has been a winning machine all summer, and South Park was just another stop on his victory tour. On Saturday, the TV day, Christophe showed his power and super human speed, as he won all 3 main events, as well as the Sun Ringle Holeshot award. After all of that, he came back to place 2nd in Pro Open. On Sunday, when it all counted in AA pro, Christophe was once again unstoppable, with another huge 1st place finish. This guy is on fire right now! Christophe's sponsors include Specialized, Mountain Dew, Fox Racing, Sinister/Marzocchi Steering Systems, Vans, Sun Ringle, ATI, Smith Eye wear, Marwi Spokes, BMXpros.com, Revenge, Champion Nutrition, Head Lock, Troy Lee Designs, and Specialized Leveque Tires. Thomas Allier wants to defend his 2000 NBL #1 Pro title, and he is on his way to doing that, as on Saturday he finished up 3rd in AA pro, gaining more overall pro points. Thomas schooled the other guys in Pro Open, with a huge 1st place overall. On Sunday, Thomas showed his consistency, as he placed 3rd in AA pro again. Look for the battle to go down at the last stop of the regular season before the NBL Grands in Evansville, IN. Thomas' sponsors include GT/Chevy Tracker, THE, Oakley, Sun Ringle, Marwi Spokes, Headlock, Revenge, Champion Nutrition, WD-40, Sinister Steering system, Hot Wheels, IRC Tires, Shimano, ACS, Troy Lee Designs, and BMXpros.com. Jamie Staff is going for the
NBL title, as he and Thomas Allier are almost tied with points for the
overall chace, with Jamie just ahead by 2 points before South Park. With
a 4th place on Sunday, it wasn't enough to gain any more points, but kept
Jamie and his SR-71 Haro out in front of his fans. Jaime's Sponsors include
Haro, Adidas, No Fear, Lee Pipes, O'Neal Helmets, Smith Eye Wear, Revenge,
Champion Nutrition, ODI Grips, Answer Forks, Shimano, Kicker, Bob's Stores,
BMXpros.com, and Headlock. Sun Ringle holeshot award AA Pro Saturday Pro Open-Saturday AA Pro Sunday Copyright 2001. All rights reserved. |
