Interbike Announces Expo Will Proceed as Scheduled

Laguna Beach, CA (September 13, 2001) -- While Interbike and VNU Expositions remain very sensitive to the terrible tragedy that struck our nation, the trade organization announced today that it has no plans to cancel or reschedule the 2001 Interbike International Expo.

The announcement comes in response to the high volume of phone calls and emails received from international exhibitors, retailers, distributors, and industry affiliates planning to attend this year's expo.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this terrible incident and we are praying for the safety, health and recovery of everyone involved. We hope that the tragedies of September 11th are behind us and the international bicycle industry will move forward with business, prosperity and peace," stated Lance Camisasca, Interbike Show Director.

Held once a year, Interbike is North Americašs largest cycling trade show, attracting over 20,000 attendees from around the world. Prior to the show, Interbike hosts a one-day Outdoor Demo allowing buyers and media a chance to test the latest in bikes and cycling equipment. Interbike is produced by VNU Expositions, a full service event management company. This yearšs trade show marks Interbikešs 20th anniversary.

The next chance to see the future of the bicycle industry will be at Interbike in Las Vegas, Nevada September 30-October 3, 2001. The Outdoor Demo will be held September 29 in Blue Diamond, Nevada.
