John Purse Reports from EC Nationals

(October 8, 2001 - Raleigh, NC) The East Coast Nationals were held in Raleigh, North Carolina over the weekend. Saturday started out as a cold, rainy day. Due to the weather, the races were delayed until 4:00 PM and finally got started at 5:30 PM with major drama. Some of the AA Pros wanted to postpone the racing until Sunday, due to the conditions. They united together to try to double the points and the money on Sunday, but the ABA ruling was to race Saturday or not race at all. The Jackal decided to give it a shot with the track conditions being very favorable. In a one race final for AA Pro, John managed to place 3rd. In the Pro Open, he put it together for another one lap final and placed 1st. Day two was a good day for racing with low temperatures and dry racing conditions. John placed 3rd, 3rd and 4th in his AA motos, but a 6th in the semi's kept him out of the main. In the Pro Open, he managed 4th and 4th in his motos and a main event finish of 5th.

The next stop on the schedule will be the 2001 Invert Sprint Trail Finals in Irvine, CA on October 14.
