Tektro Introduces Magnesium BMX Brake system

Tektro Brake Systems is introducing a competition-level magnesium brake system designed specifically for BMX bikes. The Talon Mag is a magnesium version of their already popular Talon brake lever, and is coupled with an ultra-lightweight linear pull brake - The Mag 4.

The Talon mag features an ergonomically shaped magnesium blade. A two-piece hinged clamp enables riders to install or remove the lever without having to take the grips off the handlebars, and without scratching the handlebars. The Talon Mag weighs 84.5 grams/piece. Tektro's suggested retail price is $26.

Tektro's Mag 4 weighs in at only 149 grams / wheel making it one of the lightest linear pull brakes available. The Mag 4's magnesium arms are complimented by stainless steel low-profile hardware and cartridge pads. The suggested retail price for the Mag 4 is $61 / wheel.

Both brake and lever should be available through dealer stores in November.
