MOUNTAIN DEW/SPECIALIZED BMX TEAM AMPS UP ROSTER Morgan Hill, CA -- January 4th, 2002. Specialized is proud to introduce the 2002 Mountain Dew/Specialized BMX Team. Specialized veterans TJ Lavin, Allan Cooke and Jeremy Fanberg welcome X Games gold medallist Brandon Meadows to the team. The Mountain Dew/Specialized Team is also increasing its BMX presence by expanding its factory-racing program. The Mountain Dew/Specialized Team will be competing on Specialized's new line of S-Works BMX frames. These technologically advanced frames are identical to those available at Specialized Dealers. TJ Lavin will compete aboard the new S-Works BMX Dirt frame. Allan Cooke and Jeremy Fanberg will be riding the new S-Works BMX Street frame. Brandon Meadows will be racing on the improved for 2002 S-Works BMX Race frame. Meadows, who won the gold medal in the first ever X Games BMX Downhill event, will be joining the team in his third year as a pro. Meadows is also known for being the ABA National #1 Amateur in 1997. "I am very excited to be on the Mountain Dew/Specialized Team and be part of the family," said Meadows. "I am looking forward to having a great season riding terrific products made by a great company." The Mountain Dew/Specialized Team has grown this year and now includes athletes competing at all levels. The factory-racing program will have representatives in various racing classes, ranging from 9 Expert to A Pro. Cyclery USA's John Weekley will manage the factory-racing program. After several years of racing success, Christophe Leveque and Specialized have amicably parted ways. Specialized wishes Christophe the best of luck in his career.
