Take a Diatech Hombre 990 brake, a Flexie and a Bonanza Tech 88 lever (which are all Diatech products) and what you have is awesome braking power at the touch of a finger ... or two. The Hombres have modulation comparable to V-brakes thanks to the Flexie cable that keeps the brake cable from kinking up under braking. They're also great for those who like to barspin without the use of a gyro. Installation and adjusting of brakes was something we usually left to the pros at my local LBS till this setup came about. Diatech has put so much thought into this brake and lever that just about anyone including myself can accomplish this task. Arm tension and pad placement could not be simpler to do.
The Tech 88 lever is a sweet deal thanks to the hinged bar clamp which allows installation with removal of the grips. Diatech has pretty much taken the Dia Compe 990's and brought them into the new millennium with the improvements they've made. The quality of materials and finish of the brake and lever is second to none. Applications for just about any front or rear setup is readily available.
